During this period, the release of protein has increased at a compound annual growth rate of 31%; while vegetarianism has also attracted attention, with a compound annual growth rate of 44% for plant-based snacks. So, according to Innova, the top 10 key snack trends are:

01

Mini Meals Rise

Rich in protein and healthy ingredients, snacks are increasingly playing the role of mini-meals, which can provide convenience for consumers who are pressed for time.

For example, in response to this trend, Unilever has revolutionized Prep's lunchtime by offering British consumers a carefree and healthy mini meal that allows them to enjoy the "desk. Made with natural ingredients, each jar contains enough vegetables, provides a source of fiber and protein, and is low in saturated fat.

02

Light enjoyment

As consumers strike a balance between seeking and health, more and more snacks can be found claiming to be "sugar-free", "low-sugar" or "no added sugar", so fruits and dried fruits act as natural sweeteners.

Triworks apple crisps contain apple slices with ridges that can be rejected like potato chips, as well as flavors designed for children, using only one or two ingredients, no added sugar or artificial colors and flavors, no fat, gluten, nuts and peanuts, and no frying.

03

Multiple Delicious Combo

Meats, cheese, herbs and spices and other delicious ingredients of snacks, can always add energy to snacks. The combination of sweet and salty, for example, creates interesting new snacks.

For example, DNX Foods' high-protein Peri-Peri chicken sticks are very popular. The traditional periperi is a high season that originated in Portugal. It combines bird's eye peppers from Africa with ingredients such as onions, lemons, oil and red bell peppers. The protein bar has 13 grams of protein and comes from free-range chickens that have never used antibiotics or added hormones, and are mixed with organic vegetables. Protein bars have a shelf life of one year and are non-GMO food, free of gluten, soy, MSG and dairy products, and free of added sugar.

04

Snack Mindfulness

As more and more snacks are advertised as natural, additive-free or preservative-free, genetically modified, etc., they allow smart consumers to indulge in snacks while also being "innocent".

GojiCaco protein bar is a kind of pure chocolate food in Denmark. The bitter taste of raw cocoa is more prominent in the combination of sweet dates and medlar, so as to achieve balance. The raw snack products are free of, lactose and soy, contain no sweeteners, additives, E-Number or preservatives, and are also friendly to vegetarians and diabetics.

05

Craftsman Style

From the seemingly rustic potato chips based on traditional recipes to handmade popcorn produced in small batches, handicrafts and crafts seem to evoke taste and are taking their place in the snack category.

06

Portable packaging

Easy-to-use snack bags, whether they are resealed, portable or pre-divided, are meeting the purchasing methods of modern mobile consumers.

Tillamook country smoker's gourmet snack bar is packed into a 12-ounce packet. Bagged sticks remain a growing part of the meat snack mix, the company says, and as consumers move to cleaner labels and simple ingredients, they want to roll out traditional snacks in a healthier, more appropriate way.

07

Coconuts are in the spotlight

Coconut has been widely concerned because of its health advantages. In snacks, it can be described as a rising star. Large, thin, creamy, frozen or freeze-dried forms indicate that the potential applications of coconut are endless.

At this year's FHC Imported Food Show, coconut-flavored snacks and beverages are numerous. For example, OWNACE coconut rolls use up to 50% of natural coconut milk as a sweet taste. The taste is crisp and sweet but not greasy. The coconut flavor is rich and contains a variety of flavors. Compared with ordinary egg rolls, this can meet the health needs of consumers.

08

The potential of nuts

Nuts and seeds also have a great appeal in snacks, but now that manufacturers are experimenting with smoked spicy and caramelized nuts, they offer unlimited potential.

In line with this trend, Fisher has introduced its new innovative snack, Fisher Oven Bakes Never Fried Snack Nuts, available in six variants including Deluxe Mixed Nuts, Peanut Mixed Nuts, Peanut, Almond Cashew Mixed, Almond and Cashew Nuts.

Aimed at health-conscious snacks, these nuts are made with just two ingredients-nuts and sea salt-and contain no extra oil.

09

adult

Snacks featuring high-end flavors such as coffee, beer or wine help cook more complex foods, and the market for adult snacks is booming.

The Spanish PatatasTorres company has released a potato chip incorporating sparkling wine, which is described as "fruity with a slight sparkling effect".

10

Popcorn and puffing

Fast food manufacturing goes beyond traditional baking or frying methods: popcorn and puffed foods are emerging.

Safe Fair Foods' line of PopcornQuinoa chips falls right into this category, which are non-fried and free of artificial ingredients, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, MSG and trans fats.

They are also free of five of the top eight allergens and are made from clean ingredients. The range is certified gluten free, not GMO program certified, kosher, cholesterol free and vegetarian.
